The story of Lakshnee, the little white tiger, is a children’s fable encouraging personal strength against all odds. It is set in a fantasy world, where chickens and tigers live under the same roof, little girls speak the language of animals, and white tigers follow the course of the stars through the forest.
A lot of people who are considered „strong personalities“ in the grown-up world, have been made to suffer as children for exactly the character traits that have made them stand out in later life. Just because they weren’t loud and funny, but quiet and dreamy, they were considered weak or crazy, and treated as outsiders. The story of Lakshnee should demonstrate that even in situations in which the whole world seems to be against us, one is not necessarily wrong. It should encourage children to carefully examine the traits for which they are criticized, instead of being blindly ashamed of them. Despite its underlying seriousness, the story of the little tiger is rich with funny, often absurd moments, and demonstrates the beauty of all nature’s creatures.
